May 17-18, 2016. Moscow (Gostniy Dvor Exhibition Center) was a venue for International Hands-on Conference ‘Application of Ariel reciprocating compressors: 50 years on a global scale’.
Ariel Corporation (Mount Vernon, Ohio, USA) is the world biggest manufacturer of reciprocating compressors for the oil and gas industries. 2016 is a jubilee year for Ariel Corporation who celebrates its 50th anniversary. Over the past half century, the company has gained the status of a global leader in the manufacturing of reciprocating compressors. Ariel compressors are operated worldwide serving the production, processing, transportation, storage and distribution of natural gas from producing wells to end-use consumers, i.e. throughout all stages where compressors are indispensable. By June 2016, over 53K compressors have been manufactured and shipped, including about 700 units supplied to Russia and CIS countries.
Over 100 representatives from 52 companies from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, China, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Romania, Poland and the USA took part in the conference. The two days were dedicated to presentations and discussions held among professionals from multiple companies: end consumers, distribution packagers, sub-suppliers, engineering and educational institutions, and service suppliers.
The conference brought together representatives from PAO Gazprom, NK Rosneft, PAO Lukoil, OJSC Novatek, LLC Irkutsk Oil Company, JSC AMGZp, their affiliates, and other companies. They were joined by Ariel distribution packagers: ODK-Gas Turbines, Kurgankhimmash, INGK and Energoservis (Russia), Jereh&Bolken (China), ABB (Switzerland), MSI (Kazakhstan), Exterran (USA), EGS (Romania), Hoerbiger (Austria).
Most of them gave presentations on the urgent issues and trends in their activities, and the representatives from Ariel Moscow office spoke about technical specifications and best engineering practice. Every report aroused great interest among listeners, who continued to discuss them during breaks and special sessions.
The final questionnaire survey showed that the conference is greatly welcomed by participants who are ready to participate in it on a regular basis. This is the evidence that the conference was a success as an event and has become a widely recognized platform for oil and gas industry in Russia and CIS countries.
